An egg, the white is gone but the yellow remains.
In the video, we see an African man breaking eggs with a knife, one after another, in a repetitive, obsessive, and monomaniacal act. He repeatedly says out loud, 'An egg, the white is gone but the yellow remains.' The video clearly shows the impossible reconciliation between the colonizer and the colonized. Inside an egg, the white and the yellow coexist harmoniously and naturally, even though they don't have the same texture, color, shape, or smell. But when there is a fracture, a break, or a rupture between them, each follows its own nature. The egg is a prison; it is the symbol of both creativity and fertility, hope and a promise of life, a new birth, and regeneration. With the broken egg, horror takes over. It's the paradox of the egg: on one side, there are broken shells, a shattered life, and on the other, the hope of a return to life and rebirth. The video also shows that in one way or another, imperialism, colonisation, and the domination of peoples never last. Sooner or later, the white is obliged to leave and give the territory to the yellow."

Dans la vidéo on voit un homme africain qui casse avec un couteau des œufs, les uns après les autres, dans un acte répétitif, obsessionnel et monomaniaque. En répétant à haute voix : « Un œuf, le Blanc est parti mais le Jaune est resté ». La vidéo montre bien l’impossible réconciliation entre colonisateur et colonisé. A l’intérieur d’un œuf le blanc et le jaune cohabitent tous les deux de façon harmonieuse et naturelle, malgré qu’ils n’aient pas la même texture, la même couleur, la même forme, ni la même odeur. Mais, quand il y a fracture, cassure ou rupture entre les deux, chacun suit sa propre nature. L’œuf est une prison, c’est le symbole à la fois de la créativité et de la fertilité, de l’espoir et d’une promesse de vie, d’une nouvelle naissance et d’une régénérescence. Avec l’œuf cassé en bascule vers l’horreur. C’est le paradoxe de l’œuf, d’un côté des coquilles cassées, d’une vie brisée et de l’autre l’espoir d’un retour à la vie et d’une renaissance. La vidéo montre aussi que d’une manière ou d’une autre l’impérialisme, la colonisation et la domination des peuples ne dure jamais. Un jour ou un autre le Blanc est obligé de partir pour laisser le territoire au Jaune.
